ghd air professional hairdryer*
ghdhair.com, £99 (currently on offer for £79)
I’ve never invested in a really good hairdryer; instead, my money has always gone towards a good hair straightener and my regular Brazilian Blowdry sessions with my hairdresser Ivan. But that was a complete mistake from my part, as a good hairdryer can dramatically reduce the hair drying time and it also leaves your hair looking shinier and smoother. This hairdryer is as good as it gets – trust me, I’m never looking back!
The ghd air professional hairdryer is beautifully designed with a matte black finish and metallic detailing. The motor is extremely powerful at 2,100 W reducing the hair drying time and its exposure to heat for long periods of time. The ionic technology behind this hairdryer helps reduce frizz, leaving the hair looking and feeling smoother.
The ghd air comes with 2 concentrator nozzles; the wider nozzle is thinner for precision drying, and the narrower one is slightly thicker for drying larger areas at once. If your priority is to cut down on time, ghd recommends using the hair dryer without the nozzles, but I find that my hair looks smoother when I use the wider nozzle and the increase in time is not significant. In fact, compared to my previous hairdryer, the ghd air dryer dries my hair in half the time, which is absolutely brilliant!
On the back of the handle of the ghd air are the variable power and temperature controls, and at the front of the handle is the cool shot button, which I find very handy to help calm down any flyaways after I finish blow drying my hair.
This hairdryer comes with a 3m power cable and a removable air filter. Additionally, the handle was cleverly designed for both right and left-handed users. In terms of weight, it’s a little bit heavier than all of my previous hairdryers, but not uncomfortably heavy, which I assume is due to the excellent build quality of the ghd air – I can feel this will last me a lifetime!
Overall, I have nothing bad to report about this hairdryer and I’m well and truly in love; my hair has never looked shinier and smoother, and I’ve saved so much time since I started using it! Of course, greatness comes at a price, and the ghd air is a little bit on the expensive side retailing at just under £100. But if you fancy grabbing one of these for yourself, the time is now; ghd is currently running a limited time offer where you can get £20 this hairdryer, so hurry and don’t miss out!
