Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in Black Cocoa*, £11

After hearing great things about Pixi for the longest time, I finally got my hands on one of their products to try. The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen caught my eye when I was browsing on Feelunique a few weeks ago, and a quick search on Google revealed that I definitely needed this in my life! I’ve been favouring softer-looking eyeliners or even no eyeliner at all recently, so this eye pencil seemed like the perfect fit for me right now.
This is the Pixi Endless Silky Pen in Black Cocoa, a truly silky smooth and highly pigmented rich brown eyeliner. The first thing that caught my attention was the cute pastel green packaging with floral details – it definitely stands out in the middle of my boring collection of standard black or brown packaging eyeliners, which means I’m more likely to reach for this when I’m in a hurry. Very clever Pixi, and I like it! :)
The second, and most important thing, that got a thumbs up from me, was the consistency of this eyeliner – it’s so soft and smooth, I can’t even tell you! I found it to be softer than the Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal and the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner, which are my two absolute favourites! There’s no tugging, pulling or going back and forth on the delicate eye area; you can get an amazing colour payoff with one quick swipe of this, which makes it perfect for on-the-go application.
I have very sensitive eyes that tend to water and get really red with pretty much everything, and my eyes don’t seem to water as much when I line my upper waterline with this eyeliner. The staying power is good; it looked perfect 3 hours after application, pretty good at around 6 hours, and a bit faded, but not smudged, 8 hours after application. It’s a bit less long-lasting that both the Rimmel and the Urban Decay eyeliners I mentioned above, but not by much.
Price-wise, it doesn’t come cheap at £11 a pop! It’s priced in between the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner (£14) and the Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeliner (£3.99), but I really don’t see much difference in quality amongst the three of them, and that’s why I’ve always opted for repurchasing the Rimmel one – cheap & cheerful is the way to go here, in my opinion!
Overall, I think the Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen Eyeliner is really superb in terms of quality, and it definitely makes applying kohl liner a heck of lot easier, but it comes with a rather hefty price tag. Even though I normally cave when I really like something expensive, in this case, I also happen to like a much cheaper alternative, so I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing the Pixi eyeliner after all, but thank you very much for being so kind to my eyes! :)
Have you tried the Pixi Endless Silky Pen Eye Pen? What’s your favourite kohl liner?
