Today is a very special for me day because I bought my first Maxi Dress!
Being 5 ft tall (153cm) I’ve always found that long dresses make me look even shorter, so I stay away from anything that goes below the knees. But lately, I’ve been making an effort to find a suitable maxi dress and get over this mad idea that I can’t pull off a long dress. I’ve seen plenty of shorties wearing long dresses and they look gorgeous, so why wouldn’t I, right? :)
This maxi dress is a deep pink colour, elasticated on the top, which I love because it gives some definition to my waist, and it comes with removable straps, so you can wear it as a strapless dress if you want. I kept the accessories neutral because I wanted my lovely dress to be the centre of attention on my outfit!
Maxi Dress: Sainsbury’s
Plataform Sandals: too old to remember. Sorry!
This was a very effortless look, but I got lots of compliments that day, so it must have worked! I had my hair down, with subtle waves and my fringe was pulled sideways. Makeup-wise, I’ve got No.7 Tinted Moisturiser on my face, Benefit Benetint on my cheeks and ELF Conditioning Lip Balm in Peaceful Pink on my lips.
Are Maxi Dresses suitable for shorties or should we stay away from them? I’d love to hear your opinion, so please leave a comment below!
