Soap & Glory Super Colour Fabulipstick (Review & Swatches)

23 June 2012

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick (The Missing Pink)

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick (The Missing Pink), £9 | Boots

Soap & Glory stands are always one of favourites to browse. The packaging is cute, the product names are so clever, and every so often I find real gems that become staples in my collection. What sealed the deal for me this time was the name of this lipstick: ‘Super-Colour Fabulipstick’ – how Mary Poppins of you, Soap & Glory!

The Super-Colour Fabulipsticks are smooth, plumping and nourishing. According to Soap and Glory, these lipsticks contain Shea Butter, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid, amongst other ingredients that help  give a soft and dewy finish.

Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick (The Missing Pink)

‘The Missing Pink’ was my chosen shade, a mid-pink with very subtle blue undertones. It reminds me a little of MAC ‘Angel’ and ‘Please Me’ mixed together (swatches here). When swatched, the lipstick is actually much lighter than what you see on the stick. The subtle shine catches the light beautifully; this is something I always look for on lipsticks and rarely find. As for what it looks like on the lips, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

I honestly cannot fault this lipstick. I suffer from dry lips and because of that I have a hard time finding lipsticks that don’t enhance my dry patches. The Super-Colour Fabulipstick is so moisturising that it somehow manages to hide my dry patches. I’ve never seen anything like it! Comparing it to MAC lipsticks, ‘The Missing Pink’ takes the best parts of ‘Please Me’ (pigmentation) and ‘Angel’ (shine and moisture). Could this be the perfect pink lipstick?

What do you think? Have you tried Soap & Glory’s Super-Colour Fabulipsticks? How do you rate them? I dare you to not sing ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious‘ now! :)

I’m really interested in S&G makeup! I love their branding, it always makes me smile :) I’ve got my eye on the eye shadow quad, the nude one that Fleur De Force kept mentioning a few months ago. That looks lovely!

P.S – would you recommend me getting Discus for my blog comments? How is it better to leaving the normal Blogger comment box? x

This colour looks great – anything that’s a mix between Angel and Please Me is a good thing in my book!

The quad is also really good. I’ve reviewed it a few months ago here on the blog :) Fleur was also the one who convinced me to buy it! xx

I would recommend it just because I find it easier to people who don’t know much about Blogs to leave comments. I found that the normal Blogger comment box was a bit confusing to some people and so I changed to Disqus. Never had a problem :) xx

Snow day!! ☃️ We have two very excited childre Snow day!! ☃️ We have two very excited children and a puppy, ready some snow fun today! Might as well make the most of it, because this is probably all we’re going to get. Oh I do love snow! 😍❄️
“Anxiety is also feeling like you have no contro “Anxiety is also feeling like you have no control over your life and there’s a knot if your stomach. You feel like your world is crashing down around you and you’re expected to sit there and act like you’re fine.”

Yesterday was a right old day - I wasn’t myself. I needed silence to reset... but didn’t get it. So I carried on not sounding like myself, being curt, snappy, sometimes a bit hurtful.

Do you know when you just can’t snap out of it? You take a deep breath and promise you will react differently to a stressful situation, but a minute later you catch yourself spilling over before you even realise the pan was boiling.

I took some time to reflect in the evening and exposed everything that was causing me frustration, stress, anxiety and worry. Guess what the common denominator was?

A feeling of not being in control.

I’ve always needed some sort of order and control to feel like myself and right now we’re positivity not in control of anything really, are we?

I’m glad I can recognise the triggers for my anxiety and today I made sure I established some form of control first thing in the morning to give my day the best chance to be a good one.

So I cleaned the house, I made sure the puppy had plenty of naps, I scheduled 1-2-1 time with both kids and that made me feel so much better.

I know I only tackled the consequences, not the causes of my anxiety and my need to feel in control, but that was enough for me today.

There’s - always - more work to be done, but accepting the small wins is part of it.

How are you all feeling? Really, how’s your mind How are you all feeling? Really, how’s your mind right now? It’s so important to check in with ourselves instead of ignoring how we feel and burying our heads in housework, jobs, kids and life admin.

💫 What do I need?

That’s a good way to start. I’ll list a few things I need right now. They don’t all have to be grand things, sometimes I only need the smallest things.

1. I need to wash my hair.
2. I need silence.
3. I need to rearrange some rooms in the house (don’t know why I need this, but I really do).
4. I need to zero my inbox.
5. I need uninterrupted sleep.
6. I need a good hearty meal.
7. I need to exercise.
8. I need to smile.
9. I need to see my mum.
10. I need to put my needs first.

If I were to pick just one need right this second, I’d say number 2. I’m normally really sensitive to loud noises, but today... dear me! Even a slightly louder whisper was annoying me! 🙈
I mean... I can barely see him but I’m well jeal I mean... I can barely see him but I’m well jealous of this cosy situation! 😍 Oh Benji boy, you’re bringing us so much joy already! 🐶🤎

Trust the process ✨ I chose this phrase to repre Trust the process ✨ I chose this phrase to represent 2021 for me and it couldn’t be more fitting.

Every time I find myself thinking things won’t work out before even giving it a chance, I repeat to myself “trust the process”. It gives me the strength I need to keep going and just like that... things do work out. Always.

This lockdown has been so much harder than the first one for me. How have you found it?

I thought it was going to be the same or easier than the first time because we’d done it before, but it’s actually been so much more testing.

The only way I’m getting through it is by 💫 trusting the process 💫
