Wedding: Bridal Hair Trial & Inspiration 2013

16 June 2013

A couple of weeks ago, my fabulous hair stylist Ivan, came to my house to do my Wedding Hair Trial. With only 6 weeks to go until the big day, we decided it was time to start trying different styles until I’m totally happy with the result. We settled on the idea of having my hair up for the church ceremony, and half up half down for the reception. I want something classic, romantic and a little bit glam!

For the ceremony updo, Ivan did this beautiful centre parting with a sweeping fringe on both sides, a bit of volume on the crown, cross over detail and a low bun with wrapped curls. I adored this updo and it’s pretty much what I had in mind; I would still like a little bit more volume on the bun because I want it to be seen from all angles, including from the front. We also played around with a side parting and a sweeping fringe to the right, and that looked quite cute as well. Bearing in mind that on the day, I’ll have a tiara on, so it will look a lot more glam :)

Wedding: Bridal Hair Trial

For the reception half up half down do, Ivan did a side parting with a sweeping fringe to the right, kept the volume on the crown and let the wrapped curls drop down. I really like this style, but I’m still not 100% happy with the curls. I think I want them to look a little bit less Kim Kardashian and more Kate Middleton, if you know what I mean… I love the smooth and voluminous curls look, which actually look more like defined waves. For the top half I still want to keep it nice and tidy, but maybe not so neat.

So as you can see, it’s still a work in progress, but I completely trust Ivan and I know he’ll do an amazing job on the day! We are really good friends and we work really well together. My biggest tip for all you brides out there is to choose a hair stylist that you can easily talk to, and tell them exactly what you want and don’t want; there’s no point in hiring someone who you don’t feel comfortable stating your opinion, even if they’ve done the Queen’s hair! After all, it’s your wedding, and the only person that needs to be happy with the end result is YOU!

I thought I’d share a few pictures that have inspired my Wedding Hair choices so you can have a better idea of what I’m envisioning on the day. Let me know what you guys think, I really need your help settling on a updo and a half up half down do! To see more Wedding inspiration things, make sure to follow me on Pinterest @lebeautygirl; you may catch a glimpse of my Wedding dress… I’m not saying which one it is, but it’s in my ‘Wedding Dresses’ board :) Enjoy the pics!

ahhh how exciting!! I really like what your hair dresser has done with you hair :) and I know exactly what you mean about Kate Middleton’s hair for the half up/down hairstyle…like you want the lengths volumized and bouncy but only the ends with a curl?

For the updo, I reaaaaally like the blonde girls (5th pic down)

Nice photos. While the first one is a better style I actually think the long hair one suits you better, the half up half down makes your nose looks really large.
