Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquer, £7
Where to buy: Boots
I’ve heard a lot about the Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquers; it’s a firm favourite amongst bloggers, so on a recent trip to Boots (I seem to be saying that a lot, don’t I? Oops!) I decided to take this one home with me and see what the fuss was all about!
Lip lacquers are generally a cross between a lipstick and a lipgloss; they’re as pigmented as a lipstick, but they look and feel very similar to a lipgloss. One of my favourite lip lacquers is the Rimmel Apocalips, so I thought this one was going to be just like the Rimmel counterpart!
Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be case; yes, they are highly pigmented, but they are too thick & sticky in consistency. The application was quite patchy and the lip lacquer seemed to be displaced very unevenly every time I rubbed by lips together. The beautiful high glossy finish and stunning rose shade that is ‘Charm Offensive’ come at a price, and that price is having uncomfortably sticky lips.
So this is a very disappointing review from me, considering my undying love for pretty much all Soap & Glory products I’ve tried so far, especially the Super Colour Fabulipsticks! This lip lacquer is sadly not for me; the shade is pretty and the glossy finish is really nice, but it’s just too thick for a lip product, in my opinion. Sorry, Soap & Glory!
