Look Book: The Woodwinked Smokey Eye & Victoria’s Secret Curls

The Woodwinked Smokey Eye & Victoria’s Secret Curls

I have a lot of fun with makeup and I love beautifying myself for no reason whatsoever. A couple of days ago I was watching House of Cards – which, by the way, is sooo good! – and I started to apply some makeup, curl my hair, paint my nails… next thing I know, I’ve got a face full of makeup and voluminous hair, so obviously I had to take some selfies and share them here on the blog.

I did a simple smokey eye using Mac Woodwinked eyeshadow as the main shade, and a bit of Urban Decay Buck Eyeshadow on the crease. The rest is just black eyeliner and mascara! It’s one of those fail-safe, ridiculously simple looks that I always go back to when I want to look polished, but not too made up! The base consisted of the usual suspects: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, Mac Pro Longwear Concealer, Mac Pinch Me Blush and Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer. On my lips I have the beautiful Avon Luxe Lipstick in Polished Rose* – it’s such a pretty pink and it really brightens up my complexion!

For my hair, I really wanted to practise the Victoria’s Secret beachy waves style, which I love, but I’m not very good at creating it! I took my time with the Enrapture Encode Totem Styler (setting 3-3-3), and I used really small sections, holding the curler on each section for no more than 3 seconds. I also alternated the side of the curls and I started them from the temples down at the front half, and from the neck down at the back half. I absolutely love the way my hair looks like this – super cool and effortless, even though it look a lot of effort to get to this point! But practice makes perfect and I’ll keep practising :)

Gorgeous as always!! Love your looks…and your skin is perfection! your
makeup always looks so effortless and natural; That’s really cool that you were able to create a look that is both smokey and yet brighteningI agree that those two do not typically go together.I just love how subtle everything is even when you make other more dramatic looks.
