If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that last week I started a 7-day skincare trial using only products from one brand. The brand in question is B is for Beautiful by Superdrug, and it’s a complete premium skincare and makeup brand, which is cruelty-free, paraben-free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. I was sent a bunch of makeup products to try, and a selection of skincare products suitable for my skin concerns. I was very excited to test out the B. products, especially the skincare range, and I applaud Superdrug for bringing a full skincare range to the High Street!
Just a little background information on my skin to help you understand what I look for on skincare products – my skin is dry with a few dry patches, some fine lines, minor wrinkles and not acne-prone. The first product I enjoyed using was the B. Clean Melting Gel Cleanser, which I thought was very interesting – it starts with a thick oily texture, and when rinsed with warm water, it turns into a very runny and milky liquid and the greasiness from the oil is replaced by a velvety feel on the skin. It’s a bit messy to work with, but overall it felt nice on my skin.
However, when I tried the B. Refined Exfoliating Cleanser, I quickly felt that this was much better suited for my skin. The consistency is thinner than most exfoliators I’ve tried in the past, but it lathers up pretty well. The exfoliating beads are non-abrasive, and when washed away, it leaves behind a thin layer of moisture onto the skin, which was great for my dry skin. I’ve been using it twice a week and I’ve noticed my skin looks a bit clearer and more nourished.
For everyday wear, my favourite products were the B. Radiant Rejuvenating Serum, the B. Rescued Energising Balm and the B. Flawless Target Wrinkle Filler, with the latter being my absolute favourite – have a look at my Instagram post for a mini review of them! After using these products for a week, I felt that my skin looked smoother; my dry patches are all gone, which is fantastic, and my makeup sits in much nicer when my skin is well looked after. The product I would give a miss is the B. Vitalised Eye Cream because I saw no real results after using it for a week, but it could be that it’s just not for my skin type.
I also tried to used as much of the B. Makeup products as possible, and most days throughout the skincare trial I was using B. makeup exclusively! On the picture above I have a face full of Superdrug B. makeup, and if you want to know every single product I used, click here.
I really enjoyed my Superdrug B. Skincare trial and I’ll continue to use the products I mentioned above for as long as they keep my skin in good condition! I’m also very happy with the B. Makeup range and I’ve found some truly amazing products that are definitely getting their own separate reviews here on the blog! Above is a little sneaky peek into one of my favourites – the B. Vibrant Lip & Cheek Colour collection is definitely one to look out for when you’re next in Superdrug – review coming soon!
