My Little Summer Box (UK Launch, Review & Contents)

6 August 2014

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

My Little Summer Box – July 2014 (Coming to UK in September 2014)

I used to love beauty boxes; at one point I even had Glossybox, Joliebox and Feelunique subscriptions going on at the same time. It was also a time when I had a bit more spare money… Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is that I’ve tried lots of different beauty boxes over the last 3 years; now I’ve ended up subscribed to none, and when I have a cheeky look online, most of the time I’m still less than impressed by their contents… until last week when I received my first My Little Box!

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

My Little Box is a Parisian beauty, fashion & lifestyle box with a different theme every month, and it’s coming to the UK this September! This adorable box was designed by five friends who are also the creators of the French hit ‘My Little Paris Newsletter’. The concept of My Little Box is “a little post-box sized haven of beauty, fashion and lifestyle surprises” with cute illustrations, a French charm and pretty written all over it! You’ll get fashion accessories created exclusively for My Little Box and their own cosmetic range, as well as collaborations with very popular beauty and fashion brands; this subscription box definitely stands-out from the crowd!

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

For July we have the My Little Summer Box, which is just a delightful bundle of Summer joy! As soon I’d waved the postman off and gone through the cardboard packaging, I knew it was a good’un; it smelt lovely, it looked beautiful – I was well and truly impressed already! I have the French version of the box because it hasn’t yet launched in the UK, so I had to ask my friend Mr. Google Translate to help with navigate through the contents of My Little Summer Box! :)

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

My Little World: This is the magazine that accompanies each box and follow its theme. To be honest, I normally ditch the little magazines that come with beauty boxes, or don’t spend more than 2 minutes reading them, but I really couldn’t put this one down – even though it was all in French! The photography and illustrations are amazing, and there’s a good mix of everything cute and girly in there. My favourite sections were the recipes and the little pool-side games!

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

My Little Box Pouch: For every box you get a matching pouch, and because of the Summer-themed box, this month’s pouch has lovely little prints of ice cream, sunglasses and fans. Such a sweet touch, and definitely one to keep! I can use it for storing my most delicate jewellery, for travelling or even to keep my handbag organised.

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

My Little Paréo: I have to admit I had to ‘google translate’ this to know what it meant. It’s actually the cutest sarong ever, and better yet, it’s super versatile to be used for lots of different things – I can see it as a scarf or an improvised picnic blanket! I love everything about it; the soft fabric, the aqua colour, the delicate pineapple print… gorgeous!

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

Delsey Paris Stickers de Valise: This was adorable! It’s a little postcard-themed envelope with 3 sheets of suitcase stickers. The illustrations are super colourful and fun and I’m definitely sticking some of these on my case for my Summer holiday in a few days time – hooray!

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

My Little Beauty Gommage Visage: This required a lot of Google-translating! It’s an organic facial scrub with coconut oil, Vitamin E and a few other ingredients I couldn’t translate – sorry! This scrub smells absolutely amazing and coconut-y, it’s biodegradable and the packaging is just too cute. I can’t wait to try this! Available HERE

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

Essie Nail Varnish in Cute as a Button: This one definitely doesn’t require an introduction! It’s probably one of the most popular Essie shades, and I’ve always wanted it. The colour is a bit more coral and a bit less neon than what you see on the pictures and it’s quickly become one of my favourite colours for Summer! I had to apply 3 coats to get a nearly opaque finish, but on the plus side it didn’t chip at all for 4 days. Available HERE

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

HIP Ultra Shine Shampoo: Thankfully this one came with the English translation! It’s a fair trade shampoo that doesn’t contain any parabens or silicone, suitable for all hair types and it has over 93% naturally derived ingredients. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m looking forward to put this ‘ultra shine’ shampoo to the test. Available HERE

My Little Box July 2014 - My Little Summer Box

And that’s the lot for the My Little Summer Box! My first My Little Box really had the ‘wow’ factor for me; it was presented beautifully, the contents did not disappoint and there was a lot of cuteness and attention to detail, which I love. The box will be launching in the UK in September via uk.mylittlebox.eu for £14.95 + P&P, so you only have less than a month to wait to get your hands on one. For now, you can sign up to be first to know when My Little Box arrives on British soil!

I know I really hyped this box up, but I am truly impressed and I can’t wait for next month’s box! What do you think of My Little Box? Will you be subscribing?

Really love the look of the box! I like the fact they added the non beauty item within the box too. Something a tad different! :) Bit pricey in comparison to the other boxes online but with its packaging it could be justified I suppose aha!

Did you guess it right? I got it totally wrong, again! 😆 We couldn’t be happier and it’s exactly what both James and Bella wanted. Our little tie-breaker! 🥰 #16weekspregnant #babynumber3 #genderreveal

It’s been a little while since my last update. Last week was tough, but this week I’ve started to see the light at the end of the Hyperemesis tunnel.

I’ve been able to keep most of my food down and I can now drink sips of water. Honestly that is such an amazing feeling!

I’m still being sick and still limited on what I can eat, but everyday I tolerate a few more smells and food.

My cravings are so weird! Full of things I’ve never bothered with before - Brazilian hot dogs, McDonalds Fillet O’ Fish, tinned peaches, tuna mayo jacket potato.

I’m still very weak and out of breath if I walk around - my body is playing catch up with the last 2/3 months of living on barely nothing.

I’m into my 14th week and I honestly feel so hopeful right now. ❤️

Ad: Today is International Women’s Day and this Ad: Today is International Women’s Day and this year #LEGO are celebrating the women of the future; our imaginative, creative, inspirational little girls!

We were asked to take part in the campaign, replicating a classic LEGO ad from 1981, which shows a little girl proudly holding up her LEGO creation.

So when I asked Bella what she wanted to make, no surprises there, she chose a princess castle!

I feel like this reflects her personality so much; she’s sweet and kind, but also really knows her mind and is super determined to do what she wants, how she wants it! 💗 Didn’t she do well?!

If you want to take part and recreate the ad with your amazing daughters, you can submit a photo at LEGO.com/FutureBuilders.

I’ve stopped losing weight! 🙏🏻 It feels so I’ve stopped losing weight! 🙏🏻 It feels so good to step on the scales and not see those numbers going down anymore! I worried every single day for weeks, especially when my weight loss was so quick. So today, I put shorts on for the first time in a month (took it off right after the photo, as I feel so uncomfortable with anything around my hips or waist), pushed my belly out and registered that milestone. Hyperemesis is not in my past yet, but my new meds are at least helping me keep some food down. That’s a lot of progress from a week ago! ❤️

Not the pregnancy announcement I had in mind, but… we’re expecting baby number 3! ❤️🙏🏻 I’m 11 weeks pregnant today and this is probably the most fitting photo to describe my first trimester so far: hyperemesis gravidarum.

I was going to wait until I was feeling better, until I had a bump to show, until I could put some makeup on… but who knows when that will be? I’ve lost over 15lbs, been admitted to hospital twice on IV fluids for dehydration, spent my birthday (and weeks on end!) in bed and have been put on so many meds I’ve lost count.

Today, as I was leaving the hospital on new meds and after a bag of fluids - feeling like a human being for the first time in over a month - I decided that writing this post, although cathartic for me, may be just what another HG sufferer needs to read to make them feel a little bit less alone.

This is not the beautiful “surprise” pregnancy announcement we’re used to seeing, but for the 1-3% of women who suffer with HG, it may be the only one you can manage.

So, this is where I’ve been hiding. Baby is doing well, mama not so well. But I’m hanging in there and taking one day at a time!

Baby is due September 2021! ❤️
