What’s In My Makeup Bag 2015 – Recent Beauty Favourites

2 February 2015

What's In My Makeup Bag 2015

Are you ready for an updated What’s In My Makeup Bag? :) Looking back at my archives, I realised that my last Monthly Favourites video was in April 2014 – shocking, I know! Nearly a year has gone by and I haven’t given you a decent update on which products I’ve been enjoying using on a daily basis.

To be honest, the last 5 months have been a bit of a blur makeup-wise, and I have kept a permanent makeup bag packed, which contains everything I could possibly need from a neutral daytime look to a very fancy evening makeup. Although you will recognise some of my old favourites in this video, I have quite a few new products to tell you about, hence the 25-minute long video… Eek! SO, grab a cuppa (or two), a notepad, some biscuits and enjoy!

This makeup bag is the Camouflage Company Makeup Bag, which I have reviewed previously here on the blog. It’s such a good hold-it-all bag and I always take it with me when I travel.

Now you’re thoroughly up to date and you can find the full list of all the makeup I mentioned below, as well as a list of the products I’ve already reviewed. Let me know if you have been loving some of the same things I have, and if you want to see any more reviews of these products :)

Snow day!! ☃️ We have two very excited childre Snow day!! ☃️ We have two very excited children and a puppy, ready some snow fun today! Might as well make the most of it, because this is probably all we’re going to get. Oh I do love snow! 😍❄️
“Anxiety is also feeling like you have no contro “Anxiety is also feeling like you have no control over your life and there’s a knot if your stomach. You feel like your world is crashing down around you and you’re expected to sit there and act like you’re fine.”

Yesterday was a right old day - I wasn’t myself. I needed silence to reset... but didn’t get it. So I carried on not sounding like myself, being curt, snappy, sometimes a bit hurtful.

Do you know when you just can’t snap out of it? You take a deep breath and promise you will react differently to a stressful situation, but a minute later you catch yourself spilling over before you even realise the pan was boiling.

I took some time to reflect in the evening and exposed everything that was causing me frustration, stress, anxiety and worry. Guess what the common denominator was?

A feeling of not being in control.

I’ve always needed some sort of order and control to feel like myself and right now we’re positivity not in control of anything really, are we?

I’m glad I can recognise the triggers for my anxiety and today I made sure I established some form of control first thing in the morning to give my day the best chance to be a good one.

So I cleaned the house, I made sure the puppy had plenty of naps, I scheduled 1-2-1 time with both kids and that made me feel so much better.

I know I only tackled the consequences, not the causes of my anxiety and my need to feel in control, but that was enough for me today.

There’s - always - more work to be done, but accepting the small wins is part of it.

How are you all feeling? Really, how’s your mind How are you all feeling? Really, how’s your mind right now? It’s so important to check in with ourselves instead of ignoring how we feel and burying our heads in housework, jobs, kids and life admin.

💫 What do I need?

That’s a good way to start. I’ll list a few things I need right now. They don’t all have to be grand things, sometimes I only need the smallest things.

1. I need to wash my hair.
2. I need silence.
3. I need to rearrange some rooms in the house (don’t know why I need this, but I really do).
4. I need to zero my inbox.
5. I need uninterrupted sleep.
6. I need a good hearty meal.
7. I need to exercise.
8. I need to smile.
9. I need to see my mum.
10. I need to put my needs first.

If I were to pick just one need right this second, I’d say number 2. I’m normally really sensitive to loud noises, but today... dear me! Even a slightly louder whisper was annoying me! 🙈
I mean... I can barely see him but I’m well jeal I mean... I can barely see him but I’m well jealous of this cosy situation! 😍 Oh Benji boy, you’re bringing us so much joy already! 🐶🤎

Trust the process ✨ I chose this phrase to repre Trust the process ✨ I chose this phrase to represent 2021 for me and it couldn’t be more fitting.

Every time I find myself thinking things won’t work out before even giving it a chance, I repeat to myself “trust the process”. It gives me the strength I need to keep going and just like that... things do work out. Always.

This lockdown has been so much harder than the first one for me. How have you found it?

I thought it was going to be the same or easier than the first time because we’d done it before, but it’s actually been so much more testing.

The only way I’m getting through it is by 💫 trusting the process 💫
