By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon (Review, Swatches & Makeup Look)
By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon, £28 / $44 – Space NK (UK) | Barneys (US)
Meet my new favourite eyeshadow – the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon; a pricey investment, but one that’s worth every penny! I’m so impressed by it that I’ve already decided to order a couple more shades, and at £28 a pop, that wasn’t an easy decision to make. Anyway, enough waffling on – let’s have a proper look at this beauty, shall we?
The By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadows are smooth and smudge-proof cream eyeshadows that come in a convenient and luxurious-looking twist-up stick. But there’s so much more to it than meets the eye – this is not your regular cream eyeshadow; it contains fortifying calcium, anti-ageing proteins and antioxidants to smooth the eyelids and adhesive polymers, which fixate the colour on the eyes, giving it a waterproof effect. That’s what I call a fancy formula!
From the start this eyeshadow doesn’t disappoint; it comes in a beautiful gold stick with the shade of the eyeshadow matching the trim at the bottom, so you can have a little preview of what that colour looks like before you open the lid. I was pleased that the twist-up mechanism felt really secure and it didn’t get pushed down when applying the eyeshadow directly from the stick.
The texture of the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Eyeshadows is something I’ve never experienced before with a cream eyeshadow; it’s so soft that it almost melts on the eyes, which makes it extremely easy to blend, but when it sets, it doesn’t budge or smudge, lasting for several hours without creasing or fading at all.
The pigmentation is also outstanding! The shades come out with a metallic wet-looking sheen, which gladly stays on even after blending. However, in order to keep it looking as intense as possible, I prefer to apply the eyeshadow directly from the stick onto my eyelids, and only blend the edges with my Zoeva 227 Luxe Soft Definer Brush. It really is the easiest product to give you a sophisticated eye makeup look without much effort or spending too much time blending.
For my first By Terry Ombre Blackstar purchase, I really wanted to get my money’s worth out of it, so I played it safe and chose the shade ‘Bronze Moon’. It’s a lovely mid-toned warm brown with a metallic bronze wet sheen – the perfect ‘one-colour-does-it-all’ shade for olive skin tones like mine and very wearable for daytime and evenings. These eyeshadows are one of the most versatile makeup products you could have in your makeup bag, which kind of makes up for its hefty price tag, as you can use them on their own all over the lids, paired with other eyeshadows, as a base for a more long-lasting eye makeup look and even as eyeliner.
The makeup look I’m wearing on these photos was created by swiping ‘Bronze Moon’ all over the lid and blending the edges out with a blending brush. Then I applied the shade S4 from the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette, which is a pale champagne colour, on the inner half of my eye. I finished off the look with a brown eyeliner on my waterline and lots of mascara – it was so easy and to be honest, it’s been a long time since I’ve been that happy with how my eye makeup looks!
So if you haven’t gathered by now, I LOVE THIS EYESHADOW – in capitals! The By Terry Ombre Blackstars are far from being affordable, but in my opinion, they are so worth the investment because they are great quality, extremely versatile and super pigmented – basically, everything you need in an eyeshadow. I’ve decided to bite the bullet and get two more shades – Blond Opal (a pale champagne/gold) and Misty Rock (a rose-toned silvery purple) – which I think will give me lots more options for super quick and sophisticated makeup looks, especially over the next few months as a new mum with no time to spare.

Ótima resenha, como sempre =)
Você já testou a Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow? É bem parecida, mas acho que as cores desta da By Terry são mais bonitas.

I love it when cream shadows keep that glossy look even after they’re blended- I keep hearing such great things about these!
