Hi, I’m Ysis Lorenna. You may remember me or recognise my name if you’ve been reading blogs for a few years.
Le Beauty Girl then officially became ‘Ysis Lorenna’, a place where I’ve continued to do makeup reviews and tutorials, but now added a whole lot more things that have become interesting to me over the years.
I’ve documented everything from my weekly pregnancy updates, followed by the birth of Baby James and my journey through motherhood (with plenty of ups and downs), my favourite tech products and camera gear, blogging tips, makeup tips, product reviews for new mums and a lot more.
Then, every so often life gets in the way and the blog takes a back seat. Especially now that I’m a mum, and about to become a mum of 2 under 2 – oh yes, I’M PREGNANT AGAIN!
But I always come back to this little passion of mine. My little blog that has blossomed into much more than I ever thought it would back when I started it in the Summer of 2011. I was broke, jobless and completely addicted to MAC Cosmetics. Some things never change.
Lately, though, I haven’t given my blog any priority at all. And that makes me a bit sad on a daily basis. I have wanted to get back here, but just couldn’t find the right thing to post or the inspiration to say something worth your time and attention. Heck, I’m not even sure if this is worth your time and attention, but I have to stop with the excuses.
The point is, I want to get back to blogging regularly. About beauty, babies, tech, life. I want to do things differently. But I also want them to be the same in a way. Get it?
I want to have that same drive and passion I had 5 years ago. I want to find something I love in the shops and rush home, take pictures, write a post, press publish and tell you all about it without worrying about what is the best time of the day for maximum engagement? Is it the right day of the week? Have I posted too much about this subject recently?
Admittedly, blogging and vlogging have become a job for me. And how lucky am I to be able to say that I pay my bills by doing something that gives me so much pleasure? Something I started with no intention of making it profitable. It’s kind of amazing and I don’t take it for granted.
But I do miss the spontaneity of the good old days, when there was no pressure to create content. Not even from myself. Ironically, I used to create more content and actually enjoyed blogging a lot more when I wasn’t making any money. Being a perfectionist has this effect on everything I do.
It sucks the fun and enjoyment out of my most pleasurable tasks, and it eventually turns them into a chore. A dreaded, boring, old obligation, which is a horrible way to describe something that is and will always be a passion of mine.
So here’s the deal. BLOGGING IS BACK. I don’t know how, but all I know is that I want to have fun doing it. And if you guys still want to read what I have to say, then that’s the cherry on the cake! You’re the cherry on the cake.
I know that life is a heck of a lot busier than it used to be, so I can’t always blog when I want, but I can try my best to find a kind soul to entertain my 1-year-old for a couple of hours whilst I focus on this little corner of the web.
Is it ok if I ask you for some help? Because I really want to make ‘my comeback’ work for all of us. And I don’t want you to think you’re wasting your time by reading my blog.
So, can you please tell me: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HERE? Anything goes… within reason, of course.
I can’t promise cooking recipes because I have none. Or tips on how to be a perfect mum, because I have none of these either. But pretty much everything else, I’m game. Family life? Language tips? Baby stuff? Pregnancy updates? Makeup reviews? Tutorials? Hair and skincare routines? Blogging tips? You’re the boss.
And that’s it, really. Hello again, sorry for being absent. It’s nice to be back! :) I’ve been fairly active on my YouTube channel, so if you want a little catch up of the last few months, head over there by clicking here.
I’m gonna love you and leave you with the PROMISE that you will see me before I give birth again. Actually, you’ll see me tomorrow, so make sure you follow my blog on bloglovin or subscribe for free email updates so you don’t miss my upcoming posts.
