27 weeks pregnant 💗 Baby is the size of a bunch

27 weeks pregnant 💗 Baby is the size of a bunch of bananas and currently measuring above the 97th centile! Swipe for screenshots of my babies’ growth charts.

I was looking at James & Bella’s growth charts, and it seems like all my babies go through a growth spurt around 27-28 weeks. But then, somewhere around 33-36 weeks, their growth tails off below the 10th (Bella) and below the 5th (James) centiles, hence I’ve had two inductions at 37 weeks and two IUGR babies.

I can’t pretend that’s not on my mind this time. That thought is always there, but this time, instead of hoping to get to 40 weeks, I’m fully prepared to give birth at 37 weeks, which is in 10 weeks time!

I’m having regular growth scans to keep an eye on baby and hopefully catch any reduction in growth as soon as it happens.

Now for a little symptoms update:

😫 Pelvic girdle pain. For the past week I’ve REALLY struggled with it. The constant pelvic pain whenever I move is excruciating! I’ve bought a support belt, but I can only really wear it when I’m standing up, and I actually spend most of my day up and down. I have a referral form to submit for physiotherapy, hopefully that will give me some relief!

🥤 Gestational diabetes. I had a glucose test to determine if I have gestational diabetes, which could lead to having a really big baby! I’ve never been offered one before, but apparently because of my Brazilian background, I’m more like to develop it. I mean, the thought of a big baby has never crossed my mind, having had two under 5lbs babies, but we’ll see!

💉 Natural lip fillers! I feel like I’ve plumped up my face full of fillers at the moment… I obviously haven’t! My lips are so full and my cheeks are really plump. The word “blooming” definitely comes to mind!

👋🏻 Saying goodbye to the 2nd trimester. Next week I’ll enter the 3rd trimester. I’ve really enjoyed this trimester and I know I’ll look back with such fond memories of it. I’ve felt really happy, generally well and lucky to be pregnant. Though I’m also happy to be moving one step closer to meeting this little lady, who the kids have nicknamed “Little Miss Sunshine” ☀️

Mine is fruit - they might not eat much in variety, but will eat most fruits! 🙏🏻 Though I’ll be honest, I do wish I could cook them a roast dinner one day! 😆

26 weeks pregnant 💗 Swipe to see all three of my bumps at this stage.

I found myself doing that unhelpful thing where you scrutinise your current bump against your previous bumps and forget how much younger you were before and everything that your body has been through since then!

There’s no doubt that I’m bigger all around in this third pregnancy. I’m also 7 years older from my first and 5 years from my second pregnancies! I’ve breastfed twice, so the ladies aren’t as firm as they used to be, and this body now has got me through the last 6 years of hard work parenting.

Yeah, I may look like I’m actually 32 weeks pregnant, as some like to point out, and I probably do. But that’s not a reason to feel bad about how I look now; it’s a reason to remember all the miracles my body has done so far!

Anyway, this was a bit longer than I expected, but I needed that pep talk. Here’s a quick symptoms update:

🥴 Pelvic pain. I’m not sure what to call it - PGP, SPD… all I know it hurts right on the bones down there! Especially when I walk or move about. It’s really slowed me down and I feel like the world is about to fall out of my private parts!

🍈🍈 The emojis speak for themselves!! They are HUGE as the kids like to point out all the time… any supportive and comfy bra recommendations?

🧘🏻‍♀️ Thinking about booking hypnobirthing classes, but not sure which one to choose. I’ve heard loads about @thepositivebirthcompany. Are they as good as everyone says?

🩸 Bleeding gums. I’ve had this in all my pregnancies, so I’m not too worried about it, but it’s still weird when it happens!

#25weekspregnant 💗 Baby girl is now the size of a bunny rabbit. Can you believe it! 🐰 Here are the highlights from the past week:

😮 Swelling, a lot. If you’ve followed me on Stories the past week, you’ll know I’ve been ridiculously swollen. Although it could be just normal water retention or heat, I’m not taking any chances with my history of preeclampsia and I’ll get it checked today at my midwife appointment. If you’ve had a lot of swelling in pregnancy, do you recommend compression stockings to improve circulation?

➿ Hair is growing so much (and everywhere! 😬)! It’s also much thicker and shinier. A total welcome side effect of pregnancy, though having to trim my eyebrows and pluck out chin hairs every other day isn’t that fun…

🤪 Big movements! She’s so wriggly and active and I’ve noticed how much she reacts to when the kids are nearby talking (aka shouting!!). It’s like she wants in on the fun!

👧🏻 Baby name! We have a very strong first and middle name contender!! So far, we’ve changed our minds a lot, but last week we’ve been calling bump by this name and I like it! Any guesses? Hint hint: the first name might be what you expect from the way we named our other kids, but the middle name may surprise you!

😏 Hyperpigmentation is back. I had chloasma (the mask of pregnancy) in both my pregnancies, so I’m not surprised I have it again. For me, my skin just gets mostly darker, patchy and scars much easier.

🤢 HG was mild this week, but I did have to go back on Cyclizine a few days when the nausea was taking its toll on me.

❤️‍🔥 Heartburn! Yikes… previously, I’d taken Gaviscon, but it didn’t work this time. Rennie tablets have gone down much better, so I’ll keep these handy!

We’re back from a lovely half term week away in

We’re back from a lovely half term week away in St Ives! Guess what today has been all about?

LAUNDRY. Of course. 😫 I mean, is it even the first day back from holiday if you don’t spend it all as a serial laundry-lady? 🤣 We’re 3 loads down, 2 more to go!

Bella is helping me bake some brownies, James is watching Octonauts (whilst telling me ALL the facts about sea creatures) and Matthew is watching the F1. Oh, and baby girl is sitting right on my bladder, which means… toilet every 5 minutes!

Ahhh… it’s good to be home! 🏡❤️

21 months apart 💕 These two seem closer in age

21 months apart 💕 These two seem closer in age than ever right now. They are inseparable and my heart literally melts watching them grow up with such a close bond… of course all amidst the usual bickering! 🤣 They are loving being in St Ives again. It’s our family holiday spot of choice and every year they enjoy it even more. This year has been all about playing independently from the grown ups and having their own inside jokes! I can’t help but wonder how baby will fit in with their sibling dynamics.

If you’ve had a short age gap followed by a bigger one (4 to 6 years), how did you find it?
